Hi there! I’m Teagan, the friendly face behind Luna Socials & Design.

I began filming weddings in 2023, after spending several years documenting birthdays, family gatherings, and various large-scale events.

My mission is to craft timeless pieces of art from couple’s weddings that highlight the fun, excitement, and energy of the day, while also capturing its emotional and elegant essence. I am deeply passionate about creativity, constantly brainstorming new ways to make each couple's wedding video uniquely tailored to them.

I prefer a non-intrusive approach, capturing moments candidly. This means no dramatic caresses of the face or forced public affection moments that will make you cringe later. I strive to keep everything natural and document the day as it truly unfolds.

I am very easy going, bubbly and am always having a laugh on the job with my lovely clients. If you need a hype girl, a support person, or someone to help calm the nerves – I’ll be there for you!

Pre-Wedding Questionnaire - You’ll receive this closer to your date — please complete it at least 1 month before your wedding.
Planning & Final Check in Catch-Up - We’ll connect around 2 weeks out (in person or via Zoom) to go over your timeline and final details. I’m always here if you have questions before then!
Your Wedding Day! - It’s time to celebrate! I’ll be there capturing all the love, laughter, and magic.
Wedding Film Delivery - If you’ve selected a teaser + reaction, that’ll arrive in approx. 2 weeks. Your full film will be delivered online (and on USB if included) within 8–16 weeks.

Have your details (a copy of your invites, perfume, rings) ready in one spot for myself and the photographer to get detail shots.
Plan moments for calm — quiet time = beautiful footage.

How to get the Best Footage

Try to keep your ceremony space clutter-free.
Natural light is your best friend!
Allow time in your timeline for candid moments and creative shots.

Audio Tips

Avoid phones or keys in pockets (rustling!).
I have multiple microphones I will be using on the day. I will mic up the celebrant and the groom during the ceremony. The bride won't be mic'ed but the audio will still be captured from the grooms mic, the celebrants mic, the on camera mics and the external mic that is plugged into the PA system.
Make sure your celebrant and DJ/MC have microphones for the ceremony and reception. If you are hiring someone they should have all this already but if you are using a family-friend please mention this to them. It isn't a deal breaker if you don't have these but it will improve the audio in your final video and your guests experience on the day so they can hear all the formalities.

Timeline Tips for the Best Video Coverage

A well-planned timeline is key to a smooth and relaxed day. The more time we have for each part of the day—especially golden hour portraits and prep—the more beautiful and cinematic your final film will be. I’m happy to help you build a timeline that ensures we don’t miss a moment.

HOW TO PLAN FOR THE BEST VIDEO...

Tips & tricks for planning your wedding so you can get the most out of your photography & videography bookings.

Please note: These tips are only based on my own personal thoughts and experiences to provide you with insight and ideas. It is still important for you to take the advice your photographer and however you choose to plan your day.

Makeup timing

Ensure makeup and hairstyling is completed at most, 20 minutes after your photographer/videographer's scheduled arrival time.

Formalities first

Early formalities mean more time for you and your guests to relax, and have fun! Celebrating your first dance, cake cut & speeches in the daylight will also greatly enhance the footage of these special moments. This also helps to prevent drawn-out or messy speeches.

Lighting your reception

As mentioned, light is your photographer & videographer's best friend, but when it comes to later in the night, we understand you may want that dark & moody vibe (let's be real, no-one wants to be exposed on the dancefloor). With the help of a few fairy lights and the DJ strobes, we can capture some groovy, candid, dance floor footage. For indoor receptions, subtle overhead lights are best kept on for entrances, first dances and speeches if possible.

Portraits

Before the Ceremony:

Taking your bridal party and couple portraits before the ceremony is a great way to keep the party going afterward. You'll get photos out of the way early, leaving more time to enjoy cocktail hour and mingle with guests. While this means seeing your partner before the ceremony, we can still capture beautiful sunset shots later. Just keep in mind that morning light can be harsh, depending on the location, while afternoon light is typically softer.

After the Ceremony:

Doing portraits after the ceremony allows for a traditional first look during the ceremony, but some couples feel rushed or disconnected from their guests while stepping away for photos. The softer afternoon light is ideal for photos, but it may cut into your time with loved ones.

Ultimately, it’s up to what you want to prioritise—spending more time with your guests or capturing photos and videos at a time of day when the light may be less harsh. We can tailor the timeline to fit your preferences!

Be Yourselves, act like I am not even there...

While it’s easy to say this from behind the camera, those genuine moments are what truly make your film a reflection of you and your love. I want you to watch your film and relive those authentic moments. So, relax and enjoy each other’s company, and I’ll document everything as it happens. P.S.: Don't be too shy to give each other a few smooches, it's no secret that you two love each other, that's why we are there after all!

The Reception Sneak Away - Sunset moments

Golden hour is the perfect opportunity for you and your new hubby/wife to sneak out for a quiet moment as you watch the sun go down. Lighting-wise, this is where the magic happens. The soft, flattering light will have you glowing.

Time Needed: 10 -15 minutes

Best Time: Sunset/Twilight

Location: Somewhere close to the reception

During the reception, we can sneak you two away for a quick session in the best light of the day. The photographer and myself would have scouted a perfect location during the day, and these relaxed moments often create some of the best shots—right before you hit the dance floor!

Stay Hydrated & Eat

With all the excitement, it’s easy to forget to drink water and eat—make sure to fuel up to keep your energy up. Last thing we want is a dehydrated couple! I advise you to ask your maid of honour or best man to bring a catering box from the morning of getting ready or food from cocktail hour to snack on in between the portrait photos and videos.

I always will have a car stocked with bottles of cold waters, lollies and snacks as well and an esky that you are more than welcome to store any food or drinks into as well.

Let me preface this by reiterating that your wedding schedule/timeline is up to YOU. Chances are that you have been dreaming about this day for years, so let me know your vision and how I can best accommodate you on you and your partners special day.

Please Note

Videographers need a little more time to set up than photographers — and timing is everything. To capture your day properly, it’s essential that the celebrant or MC doesn’t kick things off (ceremony or speeches) without checking that I’m ready. Don’t stress though — I’ll handle this with the right people. If you can nominate someone (like a bridesmaid, sibling, or friend) to point me in their direction, it’ll help everything run smoothly. After all, you’ve invested in professional videography — let’s make sure not a moment is missed!

To help everything go off without a hitch, here’s a little checklist of things to prep before the big day—like final timelines, audio preferences, and making sure I’ve got your emergency contact info. It’s all about keeping things easy and stress-free!

Wedding Videography Checklist (For Before the Big Day)

☐ Finalise your timeline

Make sure your ceremony, speeches, and main events are timed and shared with me so I can plan the best coverage.

☐ Fill out your pre-wedding questionnaire

This helps me get to know your vision, key details, and any special moments to look out for.

☐ Keep all your special details in one spot

Rings, perfume, vow books, invites, accessories—anything you’d love captured—have it ready and set aside.

☐ Prep your getting ready space

Choose a room with natural light if possible, and keep clutter to a minimum (or tuck it into a corner).

☐ Talk through your audio preferences

If you're writing letters, personal vows, or want to do a voice recording, now’s the time to prep them.

☐ Let your celebrant, DJ, and MC know you’re being filmed

That way they can help with things like audio and lighting if needed.

☐ Tell me about any surprises

If you're planning anything unexpected (a dance, gift, fireworks), let me know so I don't miss a beat!

Filming Process Wedding Day

Here’s a general outline of what to expect during the filming process

Groom Prep (45 minutes)

10 minutes: Capturing the venue and details
20 minutes: Documenting the groom and groomsmen getting dressed, including styled shots
20 minutes: Casual shots of the guys hanging out

Bridal Prep (1.5 to 2 hours)

20 minutes: Capturing the venue, details, and makeup & hair shots
15 minutes: Documenting the bride and bridesmaids in their matching PJ’s or casual outfits, including a champagne pop
30 minutes: Capturing the bride getting dressed and styled shots
10 minutes: Reveals with family and bridesmaids
15 minutes: Styled shots with the bride and bridesmaids

Getting Ready Footage

Those quiet moments before everything begins? They’re some of my favourites. From your dress hanging on the door to final touches with your closest people, I’ll capture it all. If you have letters, gifts, or details like perfume and rings, have them ready and I’ll make sure they shine on screen.

First Look & Private Moments

Whether you decide on a first look or a private vow reading, these moments are raw, emotional, and deeply personal. They give you time to soak it all in together—and they make for some of the most heartfelt footage in your film.

Ceremony Coverage

The big moment! I’ll use multiple cameras (on tripods and hand-held) and professional microphones to make sure every tear, laugh, and promise is captured from all the best angles. If your ceremony is outdoors or near traffic, I’ll work with you to reduce background noise and keep the focus on your love.

Post-Ceremony + Portrait Sessions

After the ceremony, I’ll blend into the background while you’re swept up in hugs, cheers, and just-married joy. During portraits, I’ll tag along with your photographer and sneak in those dreamy, candid shots. This time is when you will be getting a lot of your couple and bridal party photos from your photographer, but it is also important to factor in enough time for us to get creative with some video shots too.

Reception Highlights

Your reception is the heart of the party! From that electric entrance to the dance floor kicking off. I’ll capture the speeches, the tears, the laughter, the nut bush and all the little interactions you may have missed that will make the night unforgettable.

Love Letters & Voiceovers

Want to add something extra special to your film? Consider reading a letter, sharing a memory, or recording a little love note to each other. I’ll guide you through the process—it’s simple, meaningful, and adds a beautiful personal touch to your video.

After the Wedding

Once the dancing winds down and your feet are up, the editing begins. I’ll carefully piece together your story with the perfect balance of emotion and energy. You’ll receive your finished films in your online gallery and on a USB. I take my time with the editing process, after all this is your special day and I believe it isn't something that should just be whipped together in a week post wedding. It deserves the love and care and time put into it. From colour grading to filtering through hours of content from multiple camera's to creating a final highlight video to best showcase the day. During a season I am editing multiple weddings at a time so I appreciate your patience as I do this and I understand how eager you are to watch you special day back.
